Introduction
ReelMind is an iOS app that lets you save, and organize Instagram Reels via the iOS Share Sheet. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use ReelMind, how we use it, and your rights over it.

What Data We Collect
- Email address — required to create and sign in to your account
- Display name — set during sign-up process
- User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account when you register
- Instagram Reel URL — the link of the Reel you chose to save
- Audio transcript — a text version of the Reel's audio, created by our processing pipeline
- Caption and hashtags — the text content published with the Reel on Instagram
- Creator handle — the username of the Instagram account that posted the Reel
- Thumbnail image — a preview image of the Reel, fetched from Instagram
- Push notification token — a device token used to send you save-confirmation notifications
- Basic app usage — session opens, screen views, and app interactions.
- Device info — device model and iOS version
How We Use Your Data
- Authentication — your email and user ID let you sign in and keep your library private
- Processing your Reels — transcripts, captions, and hashtags are used to categorize and index your saved Reels so you can search and browse them
- Push notifications — your device token is used solely to notify you when a Reel has been processed
- App improvement — Other data helps us understand which features are used so we can improve the app
- Customer support — if you contact us, we use your email to respond
AI Processing & External Services
To power ReelMind's core features, we send portions of your Reel data to external services for processing. Here is exactly what each service receives and why:
We carefully select third-party service providers that maintain strong privacy, security, and data protection practices. Services such as Groq, Google (including Gemini and Firebase), and Supabase process data on our behalf solely to provide ReelMind's functionality.
These providers are subject to their own privacy policies, security controls, and applicable data protection obligations. Where applicable, they support compliance with regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA. We strive to work only with providers whose privacy and security standards are consistent with the commitments outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
- Account data and saved Reels — kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your account data and saved Reels shortly after account deletion, except where retention is required for security, legal, or operational purposes.
- Firebase Analytics usage data — retained according to Google's standard Firebase Analytics retention period (up to 14 months by default), after which it is automatically deleted.
- Notification tokens — deleted when your account is deleted.
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Delete Account inside the ReelMind app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Your Rights
- Access — you can view all your saved Reels and account information directly in the app
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account
- Analytics opt-out — to opt out of Analytics data collection, contact us at deepti.jain2810@gmail.com and we will disable it for your account
- Questions or requests — for any privacy-related request, email us and we will respond within 48 hours
Security
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- We use industry-standard authentication and security controls to protect user accounts
- We do not log or store passwords in unsecured manner
While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely immune to risk. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Children's Privacy
ReelMind is designed for use alongside Instagram. Because Instagram requires users to meet their platform's minimum age requirements, you must be old enough to have an Instagram account in your country to use ReelMind.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. For major changes that affect how we use your personal data, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect.
Continued use of ReelMind after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
